Your class, your Study Hall

Join your class with the code your teacher gives you, then watch, take notes and hand in work together — in a focused space with no trivia and no distractions.

This walkthrough describes Pops Streams as designed. Steps marked “Planned” are being built and will switch to “Available now” as each phase ships.

  1. 1

    Get your class code

Built · opens after privacy review

Your teacher shares a class code that looks like TDSB-BIO11-OKAFOR. It links your account to the right school and class.

  2. 2

    Sign up as a Student

Built · opens after privacy review

Choose Student on the sign-up page and enter your class code. We show your board and class, and confirm your school has signed its data agreement — without it, student accounts can't be created.

    • Pick your age: Under 13, 13–17 or 18+.
    • 18+ students get a full account straight away.
  3. 3

    Your guardian confirms (under 18)

Built · opens after privacy review

If you're under 18, we email your parent or guardian a consent link that works for 14 days. Until they confirm, your account is class-only: your own class's Study Hall, no public rooms, no chat outside class and no profile others can see.

    • Under 13: no account is created until the school office confirms with your guardian by phone or in person.
    • Your guardian chooses extras — class chat and study groups, public group watches outside school hours, watch-history recommendations — and can change or revoke them at any time.
    • Consent lasts one school year and is re-asked every September. At 18 you can consent for yourself.
  4. 4

    Enter the Study Hall

Built · opens after privacy review

Your homeroom lists your classes and study groups. Open a class to watch its video with your teacher's highlight markers on the timeline, see the focus points, and write in shared notes that update live for everyone.

  5. 5

    Hand in your work

Built · opens after privacy review

Each class shows its current assignment and due date. Submit to your teacher's Desk, start a group response, or take the quiz — right from the class page.

  6. 6

    Study together

Built · opens after privacy review

Join study groups to see who's online and discuss in the class chat. Study groups unlock once your guardian allows class chat and study groups.

  7. 7

    Outside class

    Available now

Search any movie or show and see only sources we've verified work right now, with free, click-to-play sources first.

  8. 8

    Group watches

    Available now

Watch with friends in a theater room that keeps everyone in sync. For students under 18, public group watches outside school hours open up only if your guardian allows them.
