Run your class on Pops Streams

Build lessons from verified videos and your own uploads, highlight the moments that matter, collect work at your Desk — and keep guardian consent tidy without chasing paperwork.

This walkthrough describes Pops Streams as designed. Steps marked “Planned” are being built and will switch to “Available now” as each phase ships.

  1. 1

    Apply for an instructor account

    Available now

Choose Instructor/Teacher when you sign up and add your school and proof of role. An admin reviews it; once approved you sign in to the instructor console with your work email, password and a one-time code.

    • The console isn't linked from the public site — you'll get its address when you're approved.
    • Instructors are always free.
  2. 2

Make sure your school has an agreement

    Available now

Classes can only be created for schools with a countersigned data agreement. The console shows your school's status; new schools can register through the Classroom Free plan.

  3. 3

    Create classes and study groups

    Available now

Create a class or study group, then share its class code with students. Each class card shows students, the next step and a consent line such as “24 of 28 confirmed · 2 pending · 1 expiring”.

  4. 4

Keep guardian consent up to date

    Available now

A “needs attention” list shows only the students who need something, with one action each:

    • Pending → Resend the consent email.
    • Under 13 → Confirm via school (recorded against your school's agreement).
    • Expiring → Send renewal for the new school year.
    • Turned 18 → Ask the student to self-consent.
  5. 5

    Upload and organise materials

    Available now

Add links to videos, PDFs and slide decks (YouTube, Drive, OneDrive…), or any Pops Streams title, and tick the classes that should see each one. Share with your classes or your whole school. Direct file uploads arrive once storage is connected.

  6. 6

    Build a course

    Available now

Tag a course to its curriculum expectation (for example Ontario SBI3U · B2) and add ordered modules of videos, readings, quizzes and group projects. Attach it to a class and students see the outline, with times, in the Study Hall.

  7. 7

    Highlight and share moments

    Available now

Click the video timeline to drop a marker, or shift-drag for a range. Label it as focus, discuss or quiz, attach it to a class or group for a lesson, project or revision, and share it to the Study Hall.

  8. 8

    Review work at your Desk

    Available now

Submissions land in folders you organise. Sort by class, due date or status (new, reviewed, graded, resubmit), see whether work was made on-platform or uploaded, and mark a batch reviewed in one click.
